Running a Faster 40 yard Dash

After my last post about the NFL combine, I had several requests to write about how I coach people to run the 40 yard dash. That’s a pretty common request which I actually did a couple years back. So since my basic ideas are the same here is the series of posts where I detail my guidelines for coaching the 40 yard dash.

  1. Suggestions for the stance
  2. Suggestions for the starting position
  3. Suggestions for the start
  4. Suggestions for the initial steps
  5. Suggestions for the transition
  6. Suggestions for the upright running / maximal velocity phase
