I’m a 15 year old triple jumper, last season I was jumping fairly well.
One day in competition i had a hard landing on my heel at the end of my first phase. I think i jump too high for the hop. (this happened in june 2011) I had a bruised heel, and it took a while to heal. The bad thing was that I was using sprinting spikes, which was an awful idea, from lack of support and cushioning from the hard impacts of the triple jump.

Anyways, the 2012 outdoor season is starting, and I’ve been noticing a strange feeling in the mid (more close to the heel) outer part of my foot. When I put pressure on the area, it feels like something in my foot is about to pop. It is very painful, especially when jumping and landing on it.

I have been trying to look up what the problem could be on the internet, and the thing that i have been seeing most is, a stress fracture. Although im still not sure that a stress fracture is the problem (since im no doctor).

If anybody knows what my problem may be, please reply. And if you have had a stress fracture in your foot, could you try to explain the feeling so that i can compare (to see if i have one).

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

It could possibly be plantar fasciitis, but make sure you see a Dr. Good luck.
