Enter the Sandman – Hacking Sleep

In the next two years we will see a major apparel line releasing pajamas with comfortable smart fabrics. Makes sense doesn’t it? If training is important, regeneration must be beyond recovery tights and compression garments. Why not monitor and hack sleep and training to get more growth and adaption? It was interesting to see how HRV is going mainstream and now that Reebok is entering the sensor war with some strategic collaboration. The key is just getting the data or even analyzing it, it’s deciding how to modulate interventions to get more favorable results in competition. One emerging company is working on a sleep app that works with your travel schedule and adjusts the supplements (such as melatonin) by alerting you of when and what to take to maximize your sleep and training. Body Area Networks are going to shake up the mHealth industry by focusing on direct feedback besides small screens.
