Open and Closed Environments – Innovation in Coaching?

Some of the best discussion in sprinting I have heard in ten years can be found in the Blog response here from Mike Young’s presentation on sprinting. The detailed and very sound posts by TSCM really made me rethink better interventions and what can be done with sprinters regarding core training, foot strike, EMG, and perhaps brain signaling. TSCM has criticized the biggest critic (myself) in the past and it was the best thing I needed in my career. Biology must trump biography or we can’t innovate with passed down wisdom that may be wrong, thus repeating the same mistakes. I have a lot of materials, as you can see from the photo, that need to be digitized for e-reading. My belief is that open discussion will lead to improvement, or we will stay in an internet dark age.
