Defending the Olympic Lifts

I wanted to make sure readers could take another look at Matt Delaney’s article because it really hits home the truth of why many people can’t perform the olympic lifts properly. I keep learning every year and went form modest knowledge to being involved in sports science research on the lifts now. I don’t know the secrets, but it’s good to work backwards and see people who do get great results first and see why they do it. One coach stated that Olympic lifts were a sport and should be treated that way, but isn’t powerlifting? And if olympic weightlifting is a sport, shouldn’t our youth play more sports in general, since the same experts are masters of LTAD? I don’t have every athlete olympic lift that I work with but with banning the lifts because of poor coaching ability, we need to rethink things.
