More Summer Reading: The Checklist Manifesto

Atul Gawande’s book is a prime example of making sure training and rehabilitation is done properly. How many times do we forget a piece of equipment in practice, fail to remember to evaluate a joint in rehab, or find ourselves on a plane without spikes like one medalist a few years ago? This stuff happens because we think multitasking is the holy grail and we are human. What’s great about this book is it fosters communication with teams or group projects to ensure the system gets done the right way. If you have an iPad or Kindle it’s worth picking up as it’s a quick read. After confirming some of the Ralph Mann data on hurdling metrics, I will be posting a checklist for video analysis on hurdles 4,5,6 on Speed Endurance next week after experimenting with Freelap and and video analysis.
