Sometimes just reading what Jeremy Frisch is doing with his crab series or listening to Coach Tolbert’s advise on program design makes me wonder if I am missing something or could refine my approach to training. Everyone has progressions and more than enough exercises, but making them very precise and valid for application is what makes coaching an art. Since minimalist programs often are very difficult to design, sprinkling a bunch of corrective stuff as insurance doesn’t jive with me. Also each exercise should show a clear transfer increase the function of the problem. The best approach is to reset the underlying motor issues with mastery slowly and then lock in those changes with high force and high skill performance style training. Later this month I will send a PDF of the notes from a few good therapy seminars so people are on the same page.
