Unnecessary Physiology

I good test to the importance of physiology it if you didn’t know it, how would it affect your training? I took Exercise Physiology in college and I am grateful for what I have learned, but I think today people get caught up into the details of physiology that they think more is happening than it really is. A good warm-up is now unwinding fascia, and or medicine ball training is anti-rotational. It is true that the devil is in the details, but how much is it worth? I was told years ago that good physiology is deciding on what to do, not arguing why your workout is so clever. This is happening now with training and rehabilitation. If the modalities don’t change, or they don’t change for the better, it’s not better physiology. For me physiology is mainly descriptive in nature or markers of evidence, not academic ways to validate snake oil.
