95% of what I use are free weights, mini soccer balls and medballs, sleds from Gill Athletics, plyo boxes, hurdles, cones, and sometimes a few cable machines and core devices. I say equipment and not gadgets because I don’t believe in gadgets. Other coaches will have a different distribution of usage of equipment. Some will teach entire classes of TRX exercises in one hour. Some people will name themselves The Medicine ball Man or whatever and that is fine, but is that a good idea? Everyone talks about tools in a toolbox until they are blue in the face, but why not talk about architecture and construction instead of tools? It would be interesting to see what percentage of programs are equipment based vs natural vanilla programs. I think equipment needs to have a purpose and used sparingly. Forget about strength, how much equipment is enough?
