Here’s an interesting time line of the debacle that is Marion Jones from Own Slot of the Times Online:

Sept 2000:
Marion Jones wins three gold medals at Sydney Olympic Games. C. J. Hunter, her husband, tests positive for steroids. Tim Montgomery wins relay gold

2001: Montgomery’s breakthrough year. He finishes close second to Maurice Greene in World Championships 100 metres

Sept 14, 2002: Montgomery sets world 100 metres record of 9.78sec in Paris and goes public about his relationship with Jones

Dec 2002: Montgomery and Jones revealed to be working in secret with Charlie Francis, former coach of Ben Johnson, the disgraced former Canada sprinter

June 28, 2003: Jones gives birth to baby Monty.

June 2004: Montgomery exposed as having used drugs from Balco laboratory

Aug 2004: Athens Olympics. Jones finishes without a medal. Montgomery did not qualify

Dec 13, 2005: Court of Arbitration for Sport finds Montgomery guilty of doping and strips him of world record

Feb 24, 2007: Jones marries Obadele Thompson

Apr 9, 2007: Montgomery pleads guilty to money-laundering
