Planned Performance Training

Planned Performance training is a term I like to use instead of periodization. I think it is more descriptive of the whole process. The other day I was talking to someone about what classically is called periodization and it made me realize that in this country we just don’t get it. Yes it is about time and planning, but more importantly it is about timing of the application of the appropriate training stimulus. When you do what you do is the key. In order to have an effective plan and make it work you must know where you are at all times. This requires constant monitoring of training.
