I am a<span style=”line-height: 1.5em;”> </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5em;”>sprinter 100m/200m and am concerned I have been overtraining. I keep getting colds and often times have have trouble sleeping aswell as aniggle in my ankle to keeps reoccurring. My pb I set in my first year last year was 21.36 and this year I have barely made sub 22 with the help of a +5.5 wind. Last year I did intensivetempo three times a week and this year I have done it once a week with a greater emphasis of speed. Have I been overtraining or is it down to only one IT session a week. I also have noticed when I do the following I seem to feel like im breaking down :</span>
T- Special endurance
W – weights
F – Weights
S – Accel
I prefer grouping speed on same day as weights but my sprint coach disagrees. Also past December there seems to be a lack of aerobic conditioning work apart from the IT.
Any thoughts from anyone?? Also if I am overtrained is my season over/how can I recover from it and will it effect my potential next year??
