Here’s another training video from my Olympic development group (HPC Elite) that trains at my sport performance training center in Cary, NC. This video was shot on September 26, 2011. It was the first of two testing days in a rest / test microcycle (Tuesday week 4 of our 2nd Mesocycle). We followed this day with a rest / off day. We tested overhead back shot throw, between the legs forward shot throw, 30m sprint, 300m sprint (for the multi-eventers and long sprinters / hurdlers), and back squat (either a rep max or 1RM at my discretion). We had some decent marks out of the group although 30m times were about the same. This cycle really emphasized squatting and work capacity development and I’ve found over the past couple years that the combo of these makes 30m times go down for a cycle and then improve tremendously the following cycle.
